Where it began
Project Scarlett, better known around Western New York as The Mountain Dew Car, is a 2002 Saturn L200, acquired on May 1st 2026, was originally set out to be a normal daily driver, turned into a street legal drag racing car.
How The Mountain Dew Car Idea Started
A simple social experiment with a bottle taped to the antenna of the car, which captured the attention of anyone willing to interact with the owner.
What Changed the path for the car?
Simple, Someone had suggested to superglue a can to the roof, and act like I had forgotten the can on top of the roof, because we are all humans after all, we tend to forget things.
One thing Leading to another...
With more and more people suggesting ideas for what had become The Mountain Dew Car, it was made apparent that I was on to something huge.
The rims were repainted to match the theme of the new image of the car, more cans and bottles were added, and the labels from the bottles were cut off and added to the car to continue the build process.
The build progress...
The Mountain Dew Car is far from finished. Many people have noticed this car around and have stopped to take pictures, and videos, and ask questions. I will continue to encourage everyone to do so.
